S.H.O.U.T Groups

What is S.H.O.U.T.?

S.H.O.U.T. stands for Sharing Hearts Openly Understanding Truth. Our S.H.O.U.T. groups offer women and teen girls a safe place to begin their healing journey after experiencing sexual abuse and trauma. Groups meet weekly for six months to complete a comprehensive book study, guided discussions and group prayer.

As participants read study materials, they begin to understand the truth about their past. As they process that learning in the group setting, they discover that they are not alone. Others have taken this same journey and understand their struggles. Finally, participants learn that as they reach out to God, He offers healing and empowerment that goes beyond what can be accomplished without His help.

Opportunities for individual counseling sessions and inner healing prayer are available to participants for the duration of the program and for six months following graduation.

During the program, participants not only work to heal from abuse, they discover self-love, celebrate birthdays and holidays together, enjoy outings in the community and a weekend retreat following graduation. They build lasting relationships with other like-minded women as they journey towards healing together.

How do I know if S.H.O.U.T. is right for me?

S.H.O.U.T. is for every woman who has experienced abusive treatment and may be ready to seek healing.

Often victims of sexual abuse will minimize their own traumatic experiences, thinking they aren’t significant enough to warrant intervention or healing. Sadly, this leaves many women carrying a burden of secret, silent shame that can deeply affect their lives and relationships.

Many women who have completed the S.H.O.U.T. program had never discussed their trauma before. This group offers a safe and supportive environment to begin the journey toward understanding and healing from past abuse.

If you identify with any of the forms of sexual abuse described here, this course is for you.

Amanda’s Story

“I am so grateful for my healing journey through the S.H.O.U.T. program. I have been through multiple workshops, therapy programs and churches over the years seeking healing, and yet, still found myself in abusive situations.

When I first heard about S.H.O.U.T. I thought, ‘Oh God, finding myself abused yet again, is it time to just give up hope and abandon ship?’ But as I learned more, I felt a nudging from the Holy Spirit that I should give it a try; that I hadn't been through this program before.

And don't you know, God is a good God and He does not disappoint! Through the program, I have most importantly found healing and restoration in my trust in the Lord. My relationship with God had been so broken because I felt I had been abandoned, but I don't feel that way anymore.

I wouldn't be able to quite put into words how this healing has happened. Yes, it's nice to have other survivors share their stories and not be dealing with the process alone. Yes, I think Christina is anointed for what she does through Healing Hearts Home. But ultimately, she creates space for GOD to heal and do what He does best and THAT's why it works!
I'm not terrified of life anymore. I'm not hurting so badly anymore. I have faith that God will see me through every situation. He will not lead me astray and He will never abandon me.

Everything I went through is not a waste and I am not a helpless, hopeless cause. God has a master plan and I can trust in Him. Going through the S.H.O.U.T. program has really helped me feel confident of that.

There is hope. There is healing. It is found in my journey with Jesus—in the peace that only He can bring to this world tormented by the evils of abuse. I have hope, praise God, that the healing I received is available to all. God will see us through, and that is really something to shout about.”
